Soccer experience class for children with developmental disabilities
Aiming for a symposium as a leading symbiotic society host town
With the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which have various values, in Kawasaki City, with a focus on the Paralympic Games, with the aim of creating a community where everyone can live on their own and achieve self-realization We are promoting the Kawasaki Para-Movement.
The Kawasaki Para-Movement lists nine legacy products that will be preserved in the future. To achieve that goal, each and every citizen is the main subject, along with people with disabilities and other social minorities. To promote social change.
In addition, we will work to foster momentum for the Paralympic Games by interacting with the UK Paralympic National Team, etc., and will lead to the realization of a symbiotic society.
Overview of initiatives announced at the symposium
The Kawasaki Para Movement lists “a town where everyone is familiar with sports and exercise” as one of its legacy.
To achieve this legacy, Japan has become the first `` soccer in Japan for children with developmental disabilities '' in cooperation with various companies (JTB, ANA, Fujitsu), Kawasaki Frontale, and various organizations. & Universal Tourism-Watching Sports in the Sensory Room-"
In 2017, Kawasaki City and the members (JTB, ANA, Fujitsu), who were the speakers of the JTB-sponsored symposium on “Barrier-free minds with developmental disabilities as a key,” held at the Takatsu Civic Hall, joined the symposium. I don't want to end it only once. "
Developmental disorders, which are said to be caused by brain dysfunction, are difficult to see and do not have a high level of public awareness. They are often told that they are not disciplined, and are often hesitant to go out or travel.
Eliminating such prejudices and misunderstandings in society, and promoting “barrier-free minds” in the Universal Design 2020 Action Plan formulated by the government, aiming to realize a society where everyone can enjoy sports and travel with peace of mind. It was something we worked on.
Participants were children with developmental disabilities and their families (20 groups, 53 students) living in Kawasaki City and Oita Prefecture. The schedule was two days from July 27 (Sat) to July 28 (Sun). On the first day, we watched the Kawasaki Frontale VS Oita Trinita at the Todoroki Athletics Stadium, and on the second day we played soccer at the Kawasaki Frontale Aso Grand.
Many children with developmental disabilities are hypersensitive due to their characteristics, and crowds and noise are barriers to going out. Some children give up watching sports before giving up. Has been done. Various considerations have been made with a focus on environmental adjustments, such as creating a calm area called “Sensory Room” where children can watch games with peace of mind.
Future development
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games will finally be held this year, and the world's largest sporting celebration is expected to be held in Japan, increasing public interest in sports. In particular, with regard to the Paralympic Games, the International Paralympic Committee values courage, strong will, inspiration and fairness as important values, which are important tips for realizing a symbiotic society. Is clogged.
By maximizing the value of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, as a means of self-realization and social participation for people with disabilities, we will promote sports from the perspective of “do,” “watch,” and “support.” This will lead to the need to reduce barriers in society and the need to change the way of thinking.
Based on this idea, the “Soccer & Universal Treeism” will continue to be implemented in cooperation with club teams in the future toward “a town where everyone is familiar with sports and movement”. In addition to disseminating the activities to other clubs, we will promote the same environmental improvement for other sports.
